Our mission

At RuWaS, we empower rural communities with safe and sustainable water solutions in line with the UN SDGs. Through clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), we improve health (SDG 3), build resilient villages (SDG 11), and support climate action (SDG 13).

How we works

At RuWaS, we drive impact through innovation, sustainability, and community partnership — building reliable water microplants and empowering communities for long-term ownership.

We begin by listening and learning from the community — identifying water challenges, daily usage patterns, and local conditions. Every solution is designed to fit the unique needs of each village.

Our water microplants are built to be efficient, affordable, and resilient. By integrating renewable energy and IoT monitoring, we ensure long-term reliability and transparency in water supply systems.

We work hand-in-hand with the people, providing training and guidance so they can operate, maintain, and sustain the system independently — ensuring ownership and long-lasting impact.

What communities say

Before this, we only relied on wells — but during the dry season, most of them would run dry, and life was very difficult for our village. After RuWaS came and built the water microplant, everything changed. Life is easier, and we no longer have to risk our lives crossing Teluk Marudu just to get clean water.

In Mengkapon, there is a nearby primary school, and during the dry season this water microplant becomes the lifeline for villagers and teachers alike. Everyone comes with buckets, gallons, and bottles — depending on their needs — because this is our only reliable source of water.
